YUNIOR MARINO

Cuban-born Yunior Marino (*1976) is an artist in every sense of the word: Not only does he work as a fine artist, but also as a musician and a designer. Across all mediums, Marino aspires to gain an understanding of universal questions related to the cosmos, nature and time. The colourful rhythm of his paintings immediately captures viewers' gazes, luring them to their margins.

Marino conceives his paintings as mantras, meaning that through repetitive motion he applies paint on canvases, thereby freeing his mind entirely. The act of painting becomes a form of meditation. The time involved in painting and the overall process of creating are what constitute the core of Marino's work. In other words, as put by the artist himself: “The way they were done, is what they are”.
